The Advertisement Banners Library: Royalty Free Ad Banner Resource

A Collection of Banner Blanks and Banner Design
Tips
Welcome to my free ad banner library. If you are looking for
advertising banners to promote your website perhaps one of my blank banners
will be useful, just add the text that you require.
The banners are grouped into two standard sizes: 400x40 pixels and 468x60
pixels.
But first, here are some banner design tips for effective banner
production.
Use Large Banners: A larger banner design is likely to be more
effective so go for the biggest ad possible. Aim to use a 468x60 banner.
Use bright colors: Advertisement banner production is not a time for
subtlety. Use bright colors when creating banner ads such as light blue, yellow
and green, but use red sparingly. This will give your ads a higher click
through ratio.
"Click here" works: Using a "Click here",
"Submit" or similar graphic on your ad banner will improve the
chances of your banner being clicked. A well used but effective banner
production trick.
Use The Word "Free": One effective banner design trick is
to offer something worthwhile for free. Your banner will grab more attention
and increase its click through ratio. Be sure to honour your free offer to your
visitors.
Keep the Message Short: An ad banner with a short, snappy message
will get noticed better than a wordy, overcrowded banner. Keep your ad banner
simple and direct.
Keep the File Size Down: If you banner takes too long to download on
the page the visitor may have moved on before its even been displayed! To
improve the banner's click through ratio keep its file size below 6-8Kb.
Banner Placement Counts: If possible get your banner placed close to
the top of the page. It will display quicker and will be visible without the
need to scroll down the page.
Keep Your Banner Tidy: All parts of your banner should be visually
connected. Make sure that the style is consistent the sections line up. A tidy
banner gives the impression of organisation.
Use White Space: "White space" can actually be any colour.
It is an blank area on your banner which helps focus viewer attention to other
parts of the banner where the main message is displayed.
Select the Correct Font: Effective banner design requires use of a
font appropriate to your message. Avoid very large or very small font sizes.
Add Humor and Curiosity: Make people curious about you subject and
make them want to find out more. To do this pose a question or or a simple
riddle on your banner.
Use a Graphic: Banners with graphics tend to achieve greater click
through ratios. However, be sure to keep the file size down.
Consider HTML Banners: HTML banners are created using HTML tables
and do not contain graphic files at all. They are visually more basic but
download very quickly and on a graphic intensive page they might be the only
thing the visitor has to view for a short period while the page downloads.
